  Excellence is the word to describe the quality of our experience with Heintzelman Funeral Home, from the first interaction to the sendoff for our most beloved. In the planning stage David Heintzelman received us in a dignified way, actively listened to our petitions, and masterfully guided us when necessary; the execution of our plans on the day of the service was top notch with an attention to detail that reflected an anticipation of the unexpected. Our family is so grateful for the level of professionalism extended during a difficult time; and as we look back, we greatly appreciate the concerted effort to allow space for the sacredness of bidding farewell to our dearest.

  David J Heintzelman the man with the big dog threatened me with his dog because I unknowingly parked in his parking lot and was very nasty about it.

  My mother and I have had a terrible experience with David Heintzelman. With his help and guidance, we issued him a check for a niche at the cemetery to place my father's ashes. We did this with the understanding he would buy the niche back should we remove my father's urn in the near future. He agreed to this multiple times to buy back for what we paid...$2,300. "Of course, I'm a man of my word, I can always resell them." The original deed from the cemetery got lost in the mail...we never received. In frustration, my 70 year old mother, who's disabled, just lost her husband of 45 years as well as one of her best friends a few months prior (whom she also sent to David), spoke to David in a rude tone and hung up on him. Now, due to this, David is saying his feelings are hurt and he's no longer willing to buy back the niche. He's breaching his oral contract. My father's remains were removed four weeks ago in accordance with his agreement. I wish I could say this is a joke but unfortunately, it's not. From others I've spoken to, they agree it's appalling on a business, professional and ethical level. My mother is heartbroken and a mess over this. I have an attorney and the newspaper involved...stay tuned and wish us luck.

  I wouldn't go anywhere else in the Lehigh Valley. I've coordinated three funerals and my experience with Heintzelman Funeral Home was, by far, the best. David Heintzelman and his staff treated both living and deceased with dignity and care. The service was one of the best I've attended and the family did not have to worry about anything during the day. The experience made everything else more bearable.
